MORE RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION
Born on the 3rd of August 1978 in North London, England, D.J O'Shea was first introduced to playing music at the age of eight years of age when he began taking piano lessons from a local neighbourhood teacher.
By the age of fourteen O'Shea became a highly accomplished classical pianist but it was his intial love of Jazz & improvisation that was to cut short his progression as a classical pianist and create the distinctive, simplistic & melodius styled pianist O'Shea has become today...
At the age of twelve O'Shea won a hard fought place at the U.K's leading performing arts academy: The Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts. It was here that O'Shea studied Acting, Music & Dance inbetween his academic studies.
Whilst furthering his ambitions at the academy O'Shea took parts in a variety of musical theatre productions including Les Miserables, Cats, Starlight Express & Sweeney Todd.He also played lead roles in West Side Story, The Diary Of Anne Frank, Oliver and Little Shop of Horrors playing the voice of the plant 'Audrey II'
Since turnign professional in the mid 90's O'Shea has received international acclaim as one of the leading Soul & R&B voices in music today.
He has toured, supported and worked with a staggering roster of artists including musical legends such as Sir Elton John, Chuck Berry, Lucciano Pavarotti, Ry Cooder, The Drifters, Tony Bennett, Chas and Dave, Courtney Pine, Linda Lewis, Dionne Warwick, Geno Washington and many many more......
